Silence gives consent…

We do not want to keep silent nor allow, but come up with new democratic structures for the society. How? We would like to start the dialogue between citizens from different cities, regions, nations to get the diverse perspectives, expectations, fears and objectives on the table. To start the dialogue, we can discuss a new election system.

Our future is at stake. The EU is transforming into an even more repressive, authoritarian and anti-democratic system, where capital owners, dominant characters and multinationals reign behind the scenes.

Zygmunt Bauman: “Power and politics are to close in the hands of nations, no one is in control.”

It’s not about right or left, but about the roots of our society, our democratic roots of human dignity, social and financial safety. It’s how the very structure of the Eurozone has contributed to inequality. Euro = centralization of the power to be a world player. But, a specific currency cannot take precedence over the concrete interest of peoples.

Brussels Europe, neo liberalism and sleeping left, have to blame populism to themselves, it’s all about economy, a free uncontrolled playing field for money and multinationals.

Brussels Europe has opted for central power and prestige, while large groups of citizens choose for the quality of life. This situation is a dead end: EU Governance, Nations and Citizens should not fight each other.

We are at a tipping point, it’s top-down (authoritarian government) or bottom-up where citizen participation starts at local, regional level. Time for a new model in the digital era, based on human behavior, instead of the ‘homo economicus‘. After the Human Rights of the individual, we now have to deal with collective Rights.

* A combination of globalisation (free and uncontrolled) + democracy is impossible. Democracy is based on diversity and the representation of minorities, borders, laws, a social economy, tax, justice.

* The call for a strong leader will end up in a dictatorship of a small elite. When citizens accept the inequality, livelihood will be reduced in favor of the elite.

* The idea of lobbying is diametrically opposed to the idea of democracy, it simply is backroom influence of companies with too much money.

* Voting against is lost energy. Elections via political parties will not change the structure of inequality. When citizens do not come up with new structures and solutions, nothing will change.

EU Citizen have to debate on sovereignty, economic ecosystems, borders, global economy, leadership, ethics, corruption, integrity…

To save democratic values, living in a free and fair society, we have to take our citizen responsibility and start with a bottom-up movement. Joining forces EU wide, at local, regional level, creating new structures in the digital era. It’s about tax and how public institutions hire commercial companies, but tax money is’t meant for profit! It’s about quality of life and the openness to experiment with human being, bordered and controlled by laws. After human rights it’s about collectieve rights.
